Program of Lectures and Posters

      e are delighted to alert you to IDW-2000 (33rd IDW), to be held at the York University campus on the weekend of October 27-29, 2000. We are also happy to announce that the conference will be opened with a lecture by Professor Robert H. Crabtree of Yale University and closed with a lecture by Nobel Laureate Jean-Marie Lehn (Strasbourg). Our after-dinner Banquet speaker will be Professor A. K. Dewdney (University of Western Ontario) All lectures will be held in Vari Hall. All social events (including Friday night Mixer and Registration) will be held in Michaelangelo's Restaurant, Atkinson College.

      he conference program is now finalized. We are excited to bring you a superb assembly of talks, invited lectures and posters, as well as great opportunities to relax and mingle. Note that IDW-2000 will extend into Sunday afternoon and will finish at 3:45 PM. Poster presentations will run over two sessions (Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning). Presenters may put up their posters over lunch Saturday and take them down before the BBQ lunch Sunday. A Registration table will be set up at the mixer on Friday evening and on Saturday. Registration facilities will also be available on Sunday.

      lease note that we expect to receive payment for all registrants before the start of the conference. If by then your payment is still in the mail or has not, for some other reason, been received, we will expect a cheque covering outstanding dues upon registration. We will of course tear up any cheques received after that time. So, please bring your chequebooks and note that we cannot accept credit cards. Receipts will be issued at the same time.

GRADUATE STUDENT PRIZES

      We are pleased to advise that a number of prizes will be available for the best graduate student oral and poster presentations. We sincerely thank Hypercube Inc. for supplying a copy of their computational software, HyperChem 6.0 as a prize for the best student oral presentation. We thank John Wiley and Sons, Inc. for offering a book prize of the sixth edition of Cotton, Wilkinson, Murillo and Bochmann. We also thank the Inorganic Division of the Canadian Society for Chemistry for financially supporting student prizes.
